Play group Easter party
On Wednesday our play group got together for our annual Easter party and egg hunt. Lex was so excited to hunt for the eggs filled with candy and small toys.

We had a potluck for lunch, and although I didn’t make these myself, I have to include a picture of the “Easter sushi” one gal made out of rice krispie treats and fruit snacks. So cute, and yummy!

Tulip Festival
Our camera has been on the fritz…that’s my excuse for the latest blog dry spell. But luckily one of Tim’s coworkers gave him a new lens, so now our pictures can be in focus again!
Recently a few of us from play group drove to Woodburn for the annual tulip festival. The fields were a muddy mess due to all of the recent rain, but there were plenty of kid-friendly activities there and we had a great time. (All of my facebook friends have probably seen these photos already, but I wanted to put them on the blog too.)

Another milestone
Guess who’s been peeing in the potty since Saturday morning? Hint: he’s hiding under the plastic bucket.

We always knew that it would be up to Lex to decide when he was ready to be potty-trained. On Saturday morning he woke up with a totally dry nighttime diaper (and therefore a full bladder), so I knew we had a shot. Within minutes he earned the infamous horse trailer that’s been sitting on top of our fridge for months now. That day we rewarded him heavily and he earned multiple vehicles for peeing in his potty. Since then, it’s been a breeze. He’s wearing underwear all day, and he actually reminds me when it’s time to go. I can’t believe that over the course of a month, my baby has moved into a big boy bed AND is peeing in the potty. He’s growing up fast!

Despite all of these new developments, Lex remains devoted to Bear (his cherished companion) and his blue sleepsack. I find it very amusing that he still talks to his sleepsack and hauls it around the house with him. Who knew that a zippered mesh bag with feet holes could be so loved?
