Snow!
Unfortunately we had to cancel our plan of driving to Boise for Thanksgiving because of all the bad weather lately. But it was kind of fun to get our first snow of the season so early. And check it out! Lex is actually wearing a hat for once.

Celebrity spotting
Here’s my dad and Ben Affleck. Just another typical day at Oak Park United Methodist church in Bartlesville. Mr. Affleck (or should I call him Ben now, since he’s a friend of the family?) is in Oklahoma filming a movie, and the cast and crew used dad’s church as a place to feed everyone lunch.

Nothing that exciting is going on here at the Weaver household. Lex has been busy playing with all the cool toys he got from his birthday. Yesterday our neighbor Teagan came over to play with Lex. Grandma and Grandpa Weaver bought him a train table as a combined birthday/Christmas present, and the kids had a good time playing with it upstairs.

Lex’s birthday party
Last Sunday 15 of Lex’s closest friends joined us at Oregon Gymnastics Academy (OGA) for his third birthday party. Here’s the attempt at a group photo (but some of the kids didn’t want to sit still and are not even on the mat).

The party had a bit of a rocky start. I think Lex was a little overwhelmed at being the center of attention, and he was initially reluctant to participate in any of the activities.

But luckily with a little coaxing, he started to relax and began jumping in the inflatable bouncer.

The final group activity involved jumping into a pit filled with foam blocks. It looked so fun…it was all I could do to not jump in myself.

And here’s our pride and joy…the infamous monster truck cake:

We handed out matchbox monster trucks to all the kids as party favors.

Blowing out the candles:

This logging truck was the first present that Lex opened. And he promptly lost interest in opening any more gifts after he saw it.

Lex got a ton of cool presents, but I have to give props to my friend Trinh for making Lex the adorable backpack pictured below. So cute!

Happy Halloween and Birthday
Here’s the picture I promised from Lex’s early birthday dinner at Chevy’s. The waiters sang to him and brought him a huge ice cream sundae.

On Halloween night we had dinner with some members of our play group so the kids could all go trick-or-treating together.

It was adorable to watch.

Then a few days later my baby turned three! We celebrated in the morning with a trip to Munchkin Playland.

Then Tim and his parents joined us at home for a celebratory birthday lunch, where Lex got to open his presents.

His favorite present…Mack the truck from the movie Cars:

Later that night we joined Becky and Dayn at Chuck E Cheese for a family pizza party. Lex had a blast riding all the little rides and playing the games.

Learning how to play air hockey:

It was a great day. Then on Sunday we’ll celebrate again at Oregon Gymnastics Academy with all of Lex’s little friends.
