It’s been a year without you, and our hearts still hurt

Memorial service

Mom’s memorial service was beautiful. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the church. Dad and I created a photo slideshow, which included many pictures from mom’s childhood. And in honor of mom’s love of broadway musicals, the organ postlude included several selections from Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables.

Tim’s birthday happened to be on the day of the memorial service. So that evening I brought a cake to our family dinner, and everyone gave him cards. It was nice to have something to celebrate…
