Happy Birthday Grandpa!
Last Tuesday Lex’s Grandpa Weaver turned 70. We took him out for a family dinner at Newport Bay to celebrate.

An eager volunteer helped Wendell blow out his candles:

Becky and Ashley, looking cute as usual:

Tim’s parents left for Boise on Thursday, hauling with them another trailer full of furniture. And as always, we were sad to see them go.

Last weekend we took Tim’s parents to the tulip festival in Woodburn. The tulips were in full bloom, and the weather was nice and warm. Couldn’t ask for a nicer day!

There were plenty of kids’ activities along with the tulip fields. Lex loved this bumpy slide. Tim started out going down with him, but eventually Lex just went on his own. Again. And again. And again…

the boy in a wooden shoe:

Our family rode the cow train. It was a decision that I immediately regretted. My cow was the smallest one of all, and I felt like my knees were up at my chin. And the bumps…oh the bumps. My poor teeth rattled and my head ached by the time the ride was over. I’m definitely getting old!

Still hurting

I haven’t added to the blog lately because the boy still looks a bit gross. All of the pictures would look like this one (albeit his scab is a little better now). It’s been a rough few days. Lex isn’t used to having anything on his face hurt, and he gets really sad when he picks at his wound and it doesn’t feel any better. There have been many tears shed. Luckily Tim’s parents arrived on Friday afternoon, and Lex’s grandparents have provided him with a nice distraction from his injury.

Poor kid. Lex was playing with the neighbor girl this afternoon and he totally tripped and face-planted onto the asphalt while chasing after her. His face still looks pretty gnarly tonight because he won’t let Tim or me clean it very well. But he had a fruit smoothie for dinner and that seemed to help cheer him up a little.

Winifred Grenville: Feb. 24, 1915-Apr. 10, 2010

Aunt Winnie died last night around 11 pm. Our hearts are saddened by our loss, but I am glad that it was a peaceful passing. I hope that she’s now happily reunited with Uncle John.
We love you Aunt Winnie!
