Alameda, here we come!
The good news is that I don’t have strep throat, and I seem to be nearly recovered from my illness. Â The bad news (for all you faithful blog followers out there) is that this is my last blog post for a while. Â Lex and I are flying to California tomorrow morning to visit my sister and her family, and I doubt I will do any blog updating while we’re out of town. Â So hang tight and wait for lots of pictures once we get back home.
To tide you over, here’s Lex posing in his new toddler bed. Â Right now we don’t have a mattress in it, so it’s just serving as a giant toy car. Â But eventually, when he shows any inclination of wanting out of his crib, this will be his next bed.

Sick
Blech. Â I’ve been sick since Friday. Â It started with just a mildly irritated throat, elevated to a fever and chills, and is now holding steady with an extremely sore throat. Â I think tomorrow I’ll go in for a strep culture. Â Lex and I are flying to Alameda on Wednesday to visit my sister, and I really don’t want to travel while feeling this crappy. Â Luckily I seem to be the only one with this illness, so Tim and Lex have been spending lots of quality time together while I rest.
I haven’t taken many pictures lately, but here’s a few from last Wednesday’s play group. Â The weather was beautiful, so we spent most of the afternoon outside.

Jack’s holding hands with Sam, but Lex doesn’t seem to be jealous:

Did you say free ice cream?
Watching tv at the end of a busy day:

Not much new to report on this end. Â Lex had a mild fever on Monday but he seems to be over it already. Â Today was “free ice cream day” at all Ben & Jerry’s locations, so he and I drove over to NW this afternoon and had a nice treat while sitting in the sun. Â Then we topped off our day by visiting the zoo, but it was pretty busy because of spring break.
We’re still loving the time change. Â Lex now gets up around 7 am, like a normal kid! Â And he’s talking so much more now. Â Full sentences, too. Â Today he said, “Mommy, cut the pear please.” Â It blows my mind how much he’s learned in the past month.
Comments are off for this postBig shoes and pink lips
These pictures were taken a while ago and I forgot about them. Â Here’s Lex all proud while wearing his daddy’s shoes:

And here’s my son after he stole his grandma’s lipstick out of her purse:

This picture has so much future blackmail potential…

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Today Lex and I hosted a St. Patrick’s day party for all of the wee leprechauns (and their moms) in our play group. Â I went all out (surprise surprise) and decorated the play room with streamers and paper lanterns. Â Irish folk music played on the stereo, and the snack table had everything from green apples and snap peas to Lucky charms cereal. Â And yes, the kids were given green milk in green sippy cups to drink.

Samantha kept trying to hug Lex. Â What can I say…the boy is a lady killer!
