Christmas continued
Ok, here’s the last of the pics from Christmas day. Â I know I’m slow in posting blog entries these days, but Lex’s sleep schedule is still out of whack, and getting up at 4 or 4:30 in the morning is wearing on me! Â All I want to do in the evening is veg on the couch or go to bed.
Anyway, we spent Christmas afternoon at Dayn’s mom’s house. Â There were about 14 (?) of us there, including Tim’s sister Wendy and her husband Kevin, who were visiting from Spokane. Â We had a great time chatting and opening even more presents before having a huge turkey and ham feast that evening.
Here’s Lex with his new velcro sliceable food from Becky and Dayn:

Wendy and Shirley:

Dayn’s sister Misha, and Becky and Dayn:

As a gag gift, I put together a “white trash” basket for Becky and Dayn. Â It included personalized Jones’ sodas, spam lite, cheez whiz, etc. Â Everything was packed around styrofoam pellets, and Tim created the Safeway label for the basket.

Lex with a sugar cookie in each hand: Â Gotta love Christmas!

Putting together the race track that Santa gave Lex:

Merry Christmas! (a little late)
This year we caught a glimpse of how fun and exciting Christmas will be for Lex over the next few years. Â He adores all the lights and decorations, and whenever he goes outside he kisses the eight snowmen lining our driveway.
Tim’s parents arrived last week (just in time to nurse all of us sickies back to health). Â On Christmas Eve we went out to dinner with a friend of mine, and then Lex stayed with his grandparents while the rest of us attended a beautiful evening church service.
Christmas morning started at 4:30 (!) thanks to our son the early-riser. Â But we didn’t start opening our presents until 7 or so. Â My mom spent the entire weekend before Christmas knitting Lex’s stocking (starting it on Friday and finishing it by Sunday), and with expedited shipping it arrived just in time.

Lex was all smiles on Christmas day.

New pots and pans for the play kitchen!

Several new books…

A school bus tent:

And a new riding dump truck!

Of course it wouldn’t be Christmas morning without breakfast casserole:

We spent the rest of Christmas day with Becky and Dayn and more family members. Â Stay tuned for pictures!

“Really, people. Â Enough with the camera. Â I’ve got work to do…”

(These pictures were actually taken a while ago, but they were too cute to leave out of the blog.)
Lex and I are sick with colds right now. Â And Tim has some sort of weird ear infection, so we’re all in rather poor shape. Â We’re hoping for a fast recovery before Christmas!

My son still refuses to sit on Santa’s lap, so I guess this will be our picture with jolly St. Nick for 2009. Â Lex looks rather stoic, but at least there are no tears!

Washington County Munchkins and Moms (the M&Ms)
Yesterday our play group got together for a holiday lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory. Â The moms had an ornament gift exchange and the kids received secret santa presents. Â We had a lot of fun.
