Tractors and trucks
Lex’s love affair with all things related to tractors and/or trucks continues. This past week he enjoyed watching his favorite tractor dvd with his grandpa:

His favorite stuffed animals joined him on the couch.

Tim took last Friday off of work, so we all went to the zoo to see the new lion exhibit.

We were disappointed that the lions weren’t out when we were there, but Lex’s favorite zoo “exhibit” was an excavator behind a fence in a construction zone.

Playing with a dump truck in the zoo sand pit:

Lex loves Friday mornings, because that’s when the garbage truck comes to pick up our trash. Here he’s waiting eagerly at the curb for the truck to arrive:

Hi Grandma!
Tim’s parents arrived yesterday afternoon (and yes, they’ll be hitting another furniture auction on Monday.) Lex got so tickled when they showed up.

Happy Birthday Gabby!
Yesterday our friend Gabby turned four, and Lex and I went to her birthday party at the park. Loretta hired BJ the clown to entertain the kids.

Lex was one of the youngest kids there, and he hung back during the show. He was mildly entertained, but his attention span is still very short and he eventually wandered off to play on the playground equipment.

Mmmmm…cupcakes!

Lex is at such a fun age right now. He’s learning so much (we’re working on colors and numbers currently), and he has a great sense of humor. He is also very polite for how young he is. Every time he gives me an unprompted “thank you” it just warms my heart…
Ok, enough bragging for now.

I wasn’t even sure if Lex would wear boots, because he seems to resent any type of clothing currently. But to my surprise, he loves them! He didn’t want to take them off yesterday, despite the 90-degree temperature outside.

Yes, my son is adorable.
