Memorial Day weekend BBQ with friends

“Apple”
Lex’s love for his stuffed animals continues to grow. He hauls them around the house now instead of just leaving them in his bedroom. Here he’s taking a few of his favorites for a ride in his car:

“Bear” and Lex waiting for breakfast one morning:
Lex is very chatty these days. One of Lex’s first words was “Apple” (the name of our dog). Consequently, every new word he learns and repeats now sounds a lot like “Apple.” Tim and I really have to pay attention to discern what he’s actually saying. The phrases “a bear,” “a pot,” “up,” “a bus,” and “a book” all just come out as “Ap-ple.” And then there are times when he really IS talking about our dog Apple.
Comments are off for this postBusy day
Lex should sleep well tonight…he’s had one whopper of a day today. Instead of a morning nap, we met some friends at a nearby park for playtime.
Gabby, Katie, Mia, and Lex:

Mia giving flowers to Lex:

“To infinity…and beyond!”

Snack time back at home. ”Mmmm…chocolate yogurt.”

Then this afternoon we ended up babysitting Gabby at our house because her grandma got in a minor car accident and Loretta had to be with her at the hospital. Lex LOVED having Gabby around. He followed her everywhere and tried to do everything she did.

Finally the day ended with a bath. Playing with washable crayons in the tub:

Fun in the sun
The weather this weekend was awesome. Totally warm and sunny. So our family took advantage of the opportunity and spent a lot of time outside.
Playing with the water table:

Sprinkler time:

Bubbles!

Lex is in a phase right now where he won’t wear a bib or a hat. He rips them off before we can even get them on all the way. But in this sunny weather we’d really like his face to be more covered. So in the next picture Tim is wearing Lex’s sun hat, in an attempt to lead by example.

And here’s Lex immediately taking the hat off of his own head:

Sunglasses and crazy morning hair

“Hello?…this phone connection isn’t very good”
