I bought Lex a new toy cell phone the other day since he is constantly wanting to steal our phones.  His toy version lights up and talks, and he seems to enjoy it.  He puts it up to his ear and says “Hi Dad.”  (I’m trying not to be offended that he doesn’t say hi to his mother on the phone….I can only assume that he calls his daddy because he’s at work and I’m with him constantly.)

Not much new to report around here.  This morning Lex and I went over to Loretta’s house for a visit.  (note the teething guy still has his fingers stuffed into his mouth)

This afternoon proved to me that babyproofing the house was worthwhile.  I caught Lex with my keys…as he was attempting to shove them into an electrical outlet.  (luckily the outlets are all covered)

Tim and I want to teach Lex some more sign language because he’s such a quick learner.  Today Lex stood by the fridge and he signed the word “milk” because he was thirsty.  Genius!

Lex’s cold is slowly progressing.  He still has a loose cough and a runny nose, but the poor guy is so consumed by teething pain lately that I don’t think his cold is even crossing his mind.  Lex’s molars are coming in and we are all suffering.  Even with Motrin there are many wake-ups each night.  And we are tired.  Again.  Still…

Tim’s parents left for Boise on Thursday, and we miss them already.  Lex always has a lot of fun with his grandparents, and they helped us get so much accomplished around the house.  Thanks to Shirley we now have curtains hanging in our front room, and thanks to both of them we can now park a car in our garage!

On Monday we took Tim’s dad out for dinner to celebrate his birthday.  Becky and Dayn (Lex’s cousins) joined us for the party, and we all had a lot of fun.  Lex was fascinated by the birthday candle (nothing dangerous about that, right?)

And just to go along with the party theme, here’s a picture of Lex with his Easter balloon (before it met its untimely death).  

Lex has had a cold for a few days, and last night the poor guy was just miserable.  He cried and screamed and was basically inconsolable for at least an hour.  But thankfully today he seems to be greatly improved.
