Lex has a lot to say these days.  Most of it is still unintelligible, but he is very insistent and chatters on and on.  He does say “up” when he wants to be picked up now, which is cute.

Yesterday we joined Loretta and her family for brunch at their house.  Our assignment was to bring chocolate mousse.  (YUM!)  Lex was more than happy to sample our fresh whipped cream straight off the beater:

Over the weekend Tim secured both the toy shelves to the wall so they can’t be tipped over by our new little climber.  We’re really enjoying the amount of space in this new house.  Lex loves running around the huge bonus room upstairs and it’s a great way for him to blow off some steam.  He now throws the ball for Kiwi, so they’re starting to interact in a cute way.  (Plus she cleans up the Cheerios that he drops on the floor.)

Yesterday morning my friend Mindy brought over her daughter Mia to play with Lex for a while.  The two really enjoyed taking turns driving in Lex’s car.  

The morning play date must have really tired out Lex, because he took a THREE hour nap that afternoon.  Unfortunately we ended up missing out on the afternoon playdate that we had scheduled with my friend Teissa and her two kids.

We’ve all pretty much recovered from our various illnesses.  Poor Tim has had a plugged ear for about four days now, but hopefully it will clear itself soon.  And meanwhile Lex is cutting four teeth, so once again (or still?) we’re not sleeping well at night.  But during the day Lex is as playful and happy as ever.
