Still not sleeping…

Lex is really starting to mimic Tim and me, which is very cute. Today was the first time he clapped his hands when we both did. He also gives “hi-fives” now and will wave (sometimes).

The only thing that is not adorable about Lex right now is his lack of sleeping at night. We’re still having real issues with him waking every three hours or so. He stands up in his crib and wails until I come in and nurse him. I’m so tired that I even broke down and emailed a “sleep trainer” the other day. She and I have a 15-minute phone consultation scheduled for Monday and then we’ll go from there.
Comments are off for this postPlay group
This was the second week in a row that Lex and I were able to go to our Wednesday play group. Finding a week where he hasn’t been sick with a cold has been rough this season, but I’m grateful that he’s staying healthy recently.
Lex enjoyed bonding with the extremely kid-tolerant black lab named Boo.

My friend Caron and her son Bryce (whose birthday is only three days after Lex in November).

Gymboree
Recently we got a coupon in the mail for three free Gymboree classes. Today was our second visit, and Tim was able to join Lex and me during his lunch break. Lex really has a good time there…it’s 45 minutes of toddler heaven.

OMSI
Today our family took a field trip over to OMSI (the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry). It was $2 Sunday, so it was very economical entertainment. We even brought our own peanut butter sandwiches for lunch.
OMSI has a special playground for kids under the age of six, and it was jam packed today. Here’s Lex enjoying the wooden blocks:

We could barely pull him away from this water exhibit:

Fun with knobs:

The special feature at OMSI right now is a Da Vinci exhibit. There were tons of full-scale models of his artwork and inventions. You couldn’t take pictures of what was on display, but they did set up this photo opportunity in the hallway.
