Leaving Lionsgate
A few days ago Tim and I gave notice to Lionsgate that we’d be breaking our lease and leaving at the end of February (because of our new house purchase). Â Boy did that open up a can of worms! Â We found out that our original leasing agent had done quite a number on us when we signed up for our townhouse. Â Not only had he promised us that it would only cost us one month’s rent as penalty for breaking our lease, he also somehow managed to get our signatures on paperwork for a full year rental instead of the six month term that we requested. Â Instead of paying $1400 to get out of here, we now have to pay about $4300. Â So needless to say we were surprised/horrified/furious to discover this the other day. Â Our only vindication in all of this mess is that our particular leasing agent “no longer works for Lionsgate,” according to the manager. Â Â
Anyways, on a happier note, here’s our smiley boy posing topless for you.

In this last picture Lex is wearing his new onesie (courtesy of cousins Becky and Dayn).  It says “I TCP/IP but mostly IP.”  TCP/IP is a set of communication protocols used for the internet. (Yes, I had to ask Tim.  I’m not geeky enough to understand my son’s shirt.  But I get the “IP” part at the end.)

Snow way this is Portland!
This morning the white stuff came down yet again. Â Tim’s parents were planning on going back to Boise this morning, but they’re going to stay one more day because of the crazy weather.

Over the weekend my friend Jenny called and said that she and her son Ethan were in town visiting her family (she’s the one that moved to Arlington last year). Â So Lex and I took advantage of the opportunity to catch up with good friends.

Then on Sunday our family went to Salem to visit Aunt Winnie. Â We hadn’t been there since Christmas, and the manor residents keep track. Â One woman came up to Lex and said, “You were Santa last time you were here, weren’t you?” Â I told her that he was, and she said, “I thought so…I didn’t think there could be another baby this happy.”

Lex is getting more confident by the day with his walking ability. Â He still wants to grab our finger for support if he’s going a long distance, but otherwise he’s cruising around on his own. Â Walking can be exhausting however, so here he’s taking a little break…

Tim’s parents arrived here on Tuesday afternoon, so Lex has been entertaining his grandparents for the past few days. Â The Grandparents Weaver will be going to several furniture auctions while here (surprise surprise). Â Tim and I are placing bets on whether they’ll need to rent another U-haul trailer when they leave for Boise. Â Â

Lex has made leaps and bounds (literally) when it comes to walking. Â He now walks on his own when called back and forth between two people, and last night he made several rounds of the room on his own. Â Any day now he’ll just gain his full independence and then, look out! Â We’re already having a few issues with Lex chasing Kiwi. Â She’s not impressed that he can now continue after her when she tries to get away from him. Â
And just for fun, here’s a few pictures from last night’s bath: (the boy does enjoy his baths)
