Holiday gift exchange

December 13th, 2008 | Category: Lex

As I’ve mentioned previously, we’re in a babysitting co-op with some friends of ours. Tonight we all got together and the kids exchanged Christmas gifts.  Here’s Lex posing on the couch with his girlfriends Mia and Gabby:

(Lex’s first kiss from a girlfriend.  Awww…)

And this photo was taken earlier in the day.  Just two guys catching up on People magazine:

Yes Lex, R is for Robots!  Your daddy says so.

And here’s Apple.  Some days it’s just too much work to get on your bed…

Our townhouse

December 11th, 2008 | Category: Lex

I just realized that I haven’t posted any pictures of our new townhouse yet.  Here’s some outside shots.  The interior photos will have to come once we get some more cleaning and unpacking accomplished.

Our complex is called Lionsgate:

Our townhouse is located at the end of the building (our front door is by the stop sign):

Lex and I are still really sick.  Both of us spent today coughing and sneezing.  I would have liked to just lie on the couch and veg, but Lex had other plans for us.  He is such an active guy lately.  He just wants to chase the dogs around the house and put everything he can find in his mouth.  I need to step up my babyproofing if I’m going to keep ahead of him.

There’s a duck pond within walking distance of our townhouse, and Lex and I took a field trip there this afternoon:

Bah humbug

December 10th, 2008 | Category: Lex

Lex and I are quite the pair right now.  Both of us have colds and aren’t feeling well.  I ended up taking him back to the pediatrician yesterday (after he coughed all night and didn’t get any rest), and it turns out that he also has an ear infection in his left ear.  So he’s on antibiotics and I’m just trying to get by on cold medicine.

Even trying to decorate a Christmas tree this year feels like a lot of work.  It’s been about five days since we bought our tree, and finally this morning Tim and I managed to get some lights strung.  The jury’s still out whether the ornaments will actually be hung or not.  Talk to me after I’ve had some more tylenol…

Trying out some shoes

December 06th, 2008 | Category: Lex

Ok - seriously, we have the happiest baby on the planet.  I mean look at this guy:

Today we tried out some shoes on Lex.  They’re more like slippers but they have some sort of suede bottom for walking.  First he just stared at them:

Then he did some high stepping:

And some playing:

And then he was very pleased with himself when he took them off:

This last picture was taken tonight from our balcony.  It was a beautiful sunset!

the famous Weaver dog potty

December 05th, 2008 | Category: Lex

Well, here it is: the potty that we put together for Apple to use on our balcony (since we have no yard).  So far it’s been moderately successful.  We’ve had some accidents, but for the most part she’s getting the hang of it.  The potty consists of two bins that go under a washing machine and some fake sod specially made for dog urine (don’t ask me, I guess it’s extra porous for drainage).  The potty hangs off the edge of the balcony and there are drain tubes leading to the bushes below, so we can flush it with water occasionally.

And here’s a picture of my boys.  Lex isn’t that happy, because I took away the ballpoint pen that he was chewing on.  Mean mommy…

On Thursday night we babysat for some friends of ours.  Lex enjoyed having another kid around.  Here’s a picture of their cute daughter Juliet:
