Since the weather’s getting cooler now, we brought out some hats for Lex to try on the other day.  The kid has a large head!  (oh, and on a side note, he’s getting at least one upper tooth currently)

“Can I see some ID?”

October 12th, 2008 | Category: Lex

Last night we took advantage of our babysitting coop and left Lex with some friends while we went out with Loretta and Eric.  We attempted to hit happy hour at Stanford’s.  Unfortunately I accidentally forgot my wallet in the diaper bag with Lex, and when the waitress asked for my ID (even though I wasn’t even ordering alcohol!), we all had to leave the bar.  Thirty-three years old, and kicked out of a bar.  Sigh…

We ended up eating at PF Changs and had a great time sampling everything off of the appetizer menu.  We stayed out a little too long though, and when we picked up Lex he was crying, hungry and sad.  Next time we’ll try to be back a little closer to his normal bedtime.  (But on a positive note, he slept like a log last night!  A little trauma goes a long way…)

Anyways, here’s some random cute pics for your viewing pleasure.

Rollin’ along

October 10th, 2008 | Category: Lex

Lex is sure changing by the day.  He now rolls across the floor to get to his desired location.  No crawling yet.  Just rolling.  Today he lunged forward when sitting on the floor and bonked his head on a chair.  He actually got a small bruise and a forehead lump from that one.  But don’t worry, he recovered quickly!

He’s definitely eating more these days as well.  Today he put away half a carton of yogurt and a handful of Cheerios for breakfast and then he ate some cottage cheese and peas for lunch.  For dinner he just snacked on an apple wedge and some more Cheerios.

Lex’s favorite things lately are light switches and the pull cords for our wood blinds (no choking or strangulation hazard there, right?)  Every time I get him out of his crib from a nap, we stop by the nursery door and he turns off the light for me.  He’s very helpful that way =)

the park

October 09th, 2008 | Category: Lex

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny fall day, so our family spent some time playing at the park.

And today was a typical rainy day in Portland.  Cold and yucky.  But the show must go on…
