Getting better
We’re all feeling better again today. Lex’s night-wakings aren’t quite as bad as when he was really congested, so that’s a relief.
Here’s a picture of him wearing his dad’s hat while in the high chair. We continue to offer him solids in hope that he’ll get back to eating like he was before he got sick.
No commentsThe show that wasn’t meant to be
Not much new to report here. We’re all still trying to recover from our colds, but unfortunately this strain seems to have some longevity. Lex is just slightly congested. My cold has gone into my chest, but luckily Tim seems to be better. He and I were supposed to go see the live “So You Think You Can Dance” show at the Rose Garden tonight, but we ended up selling our tickets on craigslist since we’re still not feeling well. This is the second year I’ve had to sell my tickets to that show. Last year I was planning to attend while I was 7 months pregnant, but instead Lex had just been born. Better luck next year, I guess…
A visit to the doctor
I took Lex to the doctor today, and I came away with good news and bad news. The good news is that he doesn’t have an ear infection. The bad news is that he doesn’t have an ear infection. I have to confess that I was secretly hoping that something was wrong, and not just that my baby likes to wake his parents every 2-3 hours at night. Meanwhile we’re all still congested…
Here’s Lex giving you all a toothy grin:
We’re getting more and more comments from people that Lex looks like his daddy. They may have a point:
Lex thought it was great fun today to play with this belt from a robe:
No commentsStill sick
Blech. We’re all still sick with colds. Tim and I feel even more run down today, but we’re finding out that there’s no time to really be sick when you’re a parent. Lex is feeling a little better, but he still is very congested. Days are good but nights are still bad. I don’t blame him for waking up all the time. My nose gets more stuffy when I lay down too, but at least I can take some cold medicine.
Here’s Lex attempting to use his dad’s laptop:
This afternoon we all took a walk. Despite being sick, Lex still doesn’t want to stay inside all day. He’s a man of action (and yes, he continues to love chewing on his purse strap).
No commentsA return to the zoo (and colds all around)
On Monday Lex and I took Tim to the zoo so he could see the new baby elephant. We only spent an hour and a half there, but it was a fun morning. I now have a zoo membership, so there’s no hurry to see the entire place with one outing.
Lex’s cold seems to be getting better, although he kindly shared it with his parents first. Unfortunately, yet predictably, his sleeping and eating (solids) have taken a huge turn for the worse. The nights are once again filled with many crying wake-ups, and I am continually amazed that I can function with this little sleep.
(Lex’s shirt says West Coast Strollers, for all of you “in the know.”
