Harvest festival

Today we had a fun family outing and went to Philip Foster Farm for their annual Apple Cider Squeeze. (http://www.philipfosterfarm.com/)  The farm is about five miles north of Estacada.  We had a great time and came home with a gallon of tasty apple cider.

There were many old-fashioned apple presses  (like the one pictured below), and people could either bring their own apples or buy some from the farm to squeeze into fresh cider.

There was also a petting zoo:

It was so cute.  A lot of the people there were dressed in old-fashioned clothing.  Being a huge Little House on the Prairie fan, I was very pleased to be around so many people wearing bonnets and aprons.

Here I’m playing with an old-fashioned water pump:

We eventually took a snack break and sampled some of the delicious fresh pie for sale.
