Good friends
Recently Lex and I got some sad news. Our good friends Jenny and Ethan (the ones I picked up in the baby aisle at Fred Meyer) will be moving to Arlington, OR (by the Dalles) in less than two weeks. Jenny’s husband got a new job doing maintenance work on the wind turbines near there.
We’re trying to spend some time together before they go, so yesterday they came to our house for a few hours. We will miss them!

Yesterday we visited Aunt Winnie in Salem. She was eager to see all the pictures from our Oklahoma trip. She’s still in manorcare but is getting stronger and will hopefully return to her apartment soon.
Today was a fussy day for Lex. We’re not really sure why, but his naps were short (or completely skipped) and he was not very content anywhere. So to escape the afternoon blues, we took a family trip to Cathedral Park under the St. Johns bridge. The weather was beautiful and it was a nice way to end the day.

Lex was having such a good time in his bath before bed that we had to get it on video.

On Sunday Tim’s parents left us, after taking care of our house and dogs for over a week while we were gone. Â We are so grateful for their help. Â We couldn’t have gone on our trip without them. Â In true Weaver fashion, they hit enough auctions and estate sales while here to need a trailer for the ride home. Â Â Â
Lex continues to boycott eating solids. Â We’ve tried offering several more things, from zwieback toast to home-cooked butternut squash. Â He refuses it all. Â We’ve decided to call the specialist that his pediatrician recommended, just to make sure we can get him on track.
Applesauce? No way!
Well, our quest to get Lex to eat solid food continues to be a struggle. Â We’ve tried many different foods and get the same gag reflex most of the time. Â Here’s what he looked like when we introduced applesauce:
He is making some headway on biter biscuits, however. Â We’ll keep trying to find something our boy likes to eat…
