Floor time and duck tub
Here’s a few more pics that were taken in Boise.
Lex still has his cold, so we’re laying low and giving him lots of rest. He is old enough to fight us when we try to clear his nose with the bulb syringe, so we’re trying to help by using saline drops and a humidifier. The poor guy has trouble nursing with a stuffy nose.

Just got back from our Boise trip yesterday. We had a great time and enjoyed catching up with a lot of relatives. Of course Lex charmed everyone. And thankfully he slept during most of the long car trip. We actually had to rent a mini-van to fit our whole family in one vehicle. Between the two dog crates and all the baby gear, neither of our own cars would work. Tim and I were rather embarrassed by the “family truckster” we ended up renting. In fact, he and I went on a movie date one night while the grandparents watched Lex, and we both avoided getting into the van while some teenage girls were watching us in the parking lot.
These are just a few of the pictures taken from our little vacation. We took lots of pictures, so I’ll just spread them out on the blog this week.
(He loved bouncing on a pillow with Grandma)
Lex has a cold right now (and so do I), but he’s dealing with it pretty well. There were quite a few wake-ups last night due to his stuffy nose, but he’s still in a good mood and smiling today. Hopefully we’ll both recover quickly. We’re going to just rest today.
No commentsMothers day/Birthday
Today is Mother’s Day as well as Mom’s birthday. We got her tickets for Celine Dion in Portland this October for Mother’s Day, and we gave her a book of Lex pictures for her birthday.
This is Laura’s first official Mother’s Day, so she got a card and a gift as well. Lex was nice enough to give her a locket with his picture inside.
The locket is stamped with the text “LEX 925″ on one of the inside flaps. I believe the text just denotes the type of Sterling silver, but it seemed like a sign to me that it would be the perfect locket.

Lex seems to be fully recovered from his doctor’s visit. I don’t think he was as affected by the vaccines this time compared to the last round.
We’re also making good progress with getting Lex down for daytime naps. He is gradually adjusting to the new crib-sleeping schedule and the tears (from all of us) are fewer and farther between. We’re heading to Boise tomorrow for a quick visit, so we’re going to try to keep his napping consistent there as well.
No comments6 month checkup
Today was Lex’s 6 month doctor visit. Our boy is now 15 pounds and 26″ long. His pediatrician said he’s doing great, although his umbilical hernia is still present. And he’s right where he should be on his growth curve. He’s only in the twelfth percentile for 6 monthers, but if you adjust it to his proper due date he’s more like 50th percentile.
I’m including some pictures that were taken a few weeks ago. Lex has been a bit out of sorts today, due to his vaccines, so we didn’t take a photo.
