Thanksgiving in May

May 25th, 2008 | Category: Lex

Tonight our Sunday care group got together and celebrated with a turkey dinner.  We had the traditional Thanksgiving meal and Tim and I even brought green bean casserole (very tasty!)

Lex honored the Thanksgiving theme by wearing his turkey bib.

Stroller ride

May 25th, 2008 | Category: Lex

Up until now we’ve had Lex in the rear-facing bucket seat attached to his stroller for outings.  Yesterday we brought out the “big boy” seat to try.  He enjoyed facing forward on the walk.  It was a whole new experience for him.

Lex continues to sleep well at night.  Last night Tim and I were laughing because there was a huge thunderstorm and a transformer near our house blew up.  Lex didn’t even wake up as the house shook and the thunder rumbled.

Entertaining the baby

May 24th, 2008 | Category: Lex

Lex has about a ten-minute attention span these days, so I’m constantly trying different things to entertain him when he’s awake.  Yesterday we tried out the exersaucer and the high chair with toys attached to the tray.  Both were mildly successful.  He doesn’t quite “get” the exersaucer yet.  He just sat in it and chewed on his hands.  And he sat in the high chair long enough for Tim and I to eat lunch, but then he cried to get out.

“What do I do in this thing?”

Lex was so funny at the doctor’s visit yesterday.  He really turned on the charm and flirted with both the receptionist and the doctor.  He was all smiles.  I almost got jealous!  Turns out he has a mild case of eczema and we need to apply vaseline and cortizone cream to his earlobe multiple times a day.  No big deal apparently.

Rainy Friday

May 23rd, 2008 | Category: Lex

Not much new to report.  This morning I met with our realtor to view a house, but it needed too much work for the asking price.  And unfortunately nobody wants to tour our house (but it’s actually a mess right now, so maybe that’s for the best).

This afternoon Lex has a doctor’s appt.  His right ear lobe has been really dry and crusty lately (and doesn’t seem to be getting better), so we’re going to get it looked at today.  Other than that, Lex and I hit a mommy matinee yesterday with our friends Stephanie and Maggie.  Tim and his business partner Matt continue to work for Cypress through Cudadog.  They’re on the final few weeks of their contract and are actively pursuing new clients.  We recently had dinner with Matt and his girlfriend Hillary.  It was a lot of fun and Lex successfully (and cheerfully) stayed up past his bedtime for one night.
