To nap or not to nap…that is the question

Well, we’re all going through a rough patch here at the Weaver household. (The picture above was just taken during a good moment.) We think that Lex’s teething is really starting to kick in, and he’s drooling and chewing on things like a mad man. (Again note the picture above and how he’s desperately chewing on my finger through his bib.) He’s also rather cranky lately. For three days he wouldn’t even take an afternoon nap, despite our best attempts, so that led to some tough evenings. It took at least an hour and a half every evening to put him to bed for the night.

So now we’re doing some sleep training, and it’s taking its toll on all of us. We’re trying to get Lex to nap in his own crib (instead of our arms, the sling, the car seat, etc.). And last night he spent the night in his own nursery. This actually went remarkably well, although Tim and I missed having the little guy in our room. Naps during the day are still hit or miss. Mornings go pretty smoothly, but there can be some tears in the afternoon. And Lex cries too. I know that this will all get better with time…at least that’s what people keep telling us!
