Lots of drool and another visit to Salem
*Three new videos have been posted* click here

Lex has suddenly become a very drooly guy. He likes to chew on his own hands and will also gnaw on our clothing if given the opportunity. Bibs and receiving blankets are becoming very crucial around our household.

On Sunday we had lunch with Aunt Winnie in Salem. Lex was quite social. I walked him around the dining room so he could visit all of his 300 surrogate grandparents. He smiled at everyone and received many compliments on how handsome he is.
Unfortunately when it came time to take pictures in Aunt Winnie’s apartment, he was tired and less smiley. Our visit ended quickly with an afternoon melt-down.

What a goofball

Lex continues to make us smile. The other morning he started chuckling at us, and of course we started laughing as well.
Tonight “Auntie Loretta” is going to babysit Lex so that Tim and I can actually go out for a dinner date. We’re looking forward to a fun meal at Benihana.

Yes, Lex is definitely going through a new phase right now. Yesterday he actually rolled onto his back after being propped up for tummy time over a small green pillow. We tried to catch it on video today, but so far it’s a one-time occurrence. He’s such a chatty guy these days. He really cracks us up. The only downfall to this new Lex is that he seems to need to eat every two hours.

We’re talking midnight, 2 am, 4 am, 6 am, etc. You get the idea here…we’re all a bit tired! Luckily Lex is cute, so we’re going to keep him =)

Sleep is for the Weak

Last night we went out to dinner at Chili’s after our bible study. Lex was absolutely fascinated by the ceiling fans in the restaurant. No matter which way we were facing, he kept arching his back and twisting so he could get a good view of them. And he’s “talking” to us more and more these days. Lots of “oohs” and “ahs” and “guhs.” He might be going through some sort of growth spurt, because last night he woke up frequently but was hungry each time.
Our latest accomplishment is being able to put Lex down for a nap in the Moses basket before he is truly asleep. We lay him down with his eyes still open, and with the help of a pacifier he usually just drifts off to dreamland on his own. This is a big jump from him always needing to fall asleep in our arms.
Here’s a picture of Lex practicing tummy time:
