We’re home!
Lex and I flew back to Portland on Wednesday. Traveling alone with him was an adventure, to say the least. He was very good, but I constantly felt like I needed a third hand. Luckily strangers in the airport and on the plane had pity on the struggling single mom with the baby and helped me occasionally. I did learn that Lex is getting longer, as he kept kicking the poor man in the seat next to me while he nursed on the plane. The trip was worth any inconvenience, however. Lex’s grandparents loved getting to know him again. He has certainly changed since they saw him at 3 lbs in November.

Today has been a rough one for our little guy. We’re not sure if he doesn’t feel well, or if he’s just going through an adjustment period after our trip. He is very fussy and even went on a brief nursing strike earlier. We’re going to keep monitoring him, and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. He’s really tired, so maybe he just needs to catch up on some sleep.

Greetings from Oklahoma! Today we played it pretty mellow, giving Lex a chance to settle into his new surroundings. Grandma Stewart came over for dinner tonight and she enjoyed getting to know her latest great-grandchild.
