Sleeping buddies

Our good friends Loretta & Eric loaned us this Moses basket, so lately we’ve been trying to get Lex to take a nap in it. This particular instance was successful, although it only lasted about 15 minutes. Lex still prefers to nap in our arms. (very cute, but hard to get anything done!)
Apple would love to curl up next to Lex in the basket, but we’ve convinced her that it’s a better idea to just lay by him on her own bed.

Lex was lookin’ pretty spiffy today in his new Levi jeans (thanks Kevin & Debby!) Unfortunately there was a mega poop blowout at the end of the day (we’re talking all the way up Lex’s back), so the new jeans are now in desperate need of cleaning. But hey, they looked really cute for the first part of the day!

A visit to the dentist
Lex has been so happy and chatty today. He really stares into our eyes and just gives us smile after smile.

Tim and I both had dentist appointments this morning (routine cleanings), and the appointments were one after the other so we could trade-off with Lex duty. After that we drove to Cypress so Tim could have a quick meeting with one of the guys he’s working for. During the meeting, Lex and I took a nice walk around the block. Beautiful sunny day today!

Last night we had dinner with Aunt Winnie in Salem to celebrate her 93rd birthday. It was fun, but it’s becoming more challenging to eat a sit-down dinner in the dining room with Lex. He had other plans during the meal, so Tim and I had to take turns walking him around the manor.

Lex’s nursing seems to be back to normal, which is a relief. He enjoys laying on the ground and batting at toys dangling from his play gym.

16 weeks old
Today we had a mellow day at home. Lex seems a bit happier, although he is still reluctant to nurse. He’s drooling a lot lately and wants to chew on his pacifier and his hands. Although it’s early, we’re wondering if he’s starting the preliminary stages of teething (?)
Tim walked him around in the sling tonight so we could have free hands during dinner:
