Salem visit
Tonight we had dinner with Aunt Winnie in Salem. Lex slept in the sling during the meal, and he didn’t voice a true complaint until we were back in Aunt Winnie’s room. He did recover quickly after a short nursing session. Aunt Winnie and the other manor residents enjoyed seeing him.
Last night I bought Lex a Rainforest-themed bouncy chair. He actually fell asleep in it this afternoon. He’s always enjoyed a good butt-patting, and I think the vibration from the chair agreed with him.

Introduction to classic cinema
Today Lex was introduced to two great movies: I watched Rambo First Blood this morning while nursing, and tonight Tim watched Robocop with Lex on his lap while I ran to Target. Lex was less than impressed and slept through both movies. I guess it may take a second viewing for him to truly appreciate the films.
We’ve gone several places with Lex lately. We had dinner with our friends Kevin & Debby on Saturday night, and then yesterday we went to our Sunday night care group. Lex was a big hit at both events. Tim and I didn’t have to do much with him because he was constantly being held by an eager volunteer. Tomorrow we are going to Salem to have dinner with Aunt Winnie again.

Just the Pics
Laura is working hard to keep Lex awake while nursing. He starts off strong but falls asleep soon after and doesn’t get enough to eat. As soon as Laura tries to lay him down, he starts complaining because he is still hungry. The only time he gets some good rest is at night when we start giving him bottles.
Here are some more pictures of the crazy boy.

Guitar Hero
All three of us were up late last night playing the game Guitar Hero. Here’s Lex taking his turn:

We paid for it today…we were all tired. But it was so worth it!

Another doctor’s visit
Today was Lex’s 2 month check-up at the pediatrician. He now weighs 8 lbs 9 1/2 oz and is in perfect health. He got his first round of vaccines today. I think it was harder on Tim and me to watch than it was on Lex. He got two shots in each thigh and only cried right as they were given. But he has been a bit more fussy this afternoon and evening. We finally broke down and gave him some infant tylenol for the first time tonight.
Lex is still nursing during the day and getting bottles at night. So far it’s working well for all of us.
