Social Guy
Lex really seems to enjoy being out on the couch with us instead of in his crib in the bedroom. He’s been pretty fussy lately when we put him down to sleep unless he’s curled up on the couch next to us. Tonight he got to watch part of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation with us before he zonked out.

We went for a short walk outside today so Kiwi could get some exercise and Lex got to ride in his stroller for the first time. He slept for the whole trip.

No commentsAnother Sunday at Home
It’s hard to believe that Lex is now 6 weeks old. The days sure go by fast, and we feel like we don’t get anything done. I’m sure we’ll get a routine down eventually, but Laura and I stick to routines like oil on teflon (i.e. not at all).
We tried out Lex’s swing for the first time today. He seemed to enjoy it and spent most of the time staring in the direction of the speaker which was playing lullaby music.

I recently got a new (circa 1994) speed light for our camera and Kiwi was nice enough to pose a long time for me while I dialed it in. This one is a bit over exposed, but she’s so cute. Such a good girl!

Wrapping Madness
Today we wrapped presents so we could get them in the mail and on their way. The only clear space in the house was the kitchen floor, so that’s where we wrapped.

Some fun pics of Lex posing for the camera.

Lactation consult
Today we had a consultation with the lactation specialist and dietician at Emanuel hospital. Now another two ladies have seen my breasts. I have lost count over the last month of how many strangers have seen my bare chest. I guess modesty goes out the window with motherhood…
Lex performed quite well at the visit and we weighed him before and after the nursing session. I am going to start breastfeeding him more often and we’ll continue to give the bottle afterward to “top him off.” We’re going to start weaning off the Enfamil calorie supplement as well. Two of his bottle feedings will now be straight breast milk.
